The first psychic Rosa ever visited worked out of a strip mall, between a vape shop and a place that fixed vacuums. The woman held Rosa's hand for about four seconds and gasped. "There is a dark cloud over your family," she said. "A curse. Very old." "Oh no," said Rosa. "I can remove it. I will need a special candle. Eight hundred dollars." Rosa buys her candles at the dollar store, three to a pack. She said she would think about it, and she walked out past the vacuums at a brisk pace. That night she searched "how to tell if a psychic is real." Then she searched "can a candle cost $800." Then she called her cousin, who laughed for a full minute. Rosa still wanted a reading. She just wanted one from somebody who was not shopping for a boat with her money. So this time Rosa investigated. She found The Paul Hesch Frequency and learned that Paul reads live on TikTok. She watched for three nights in a row with a notebook, like a detective on a stakeout. Her notes read: "Did not gasp. Did not mention curses. Told a lady he couldn't answer her medical question and she should see her doctor. Laughed at his own joke. Seems normal."
On the fourth night she booked at mrhesch.com. The price was listed right there, before she paid, and there was not a candle anywhere on the page. She opened with her big question. "Is there a dark cloud over my family? A curse? Very old?" "No," Paul said. "And if anybody ever offers to remove one for money, keep your wallet in your purse." Rosa let out a breath she had been holding for two weeks. Then Paul read for her. He brought up her mother's house, and a decision about it that Rosa had been putting off, and Rosa had not said one word about a house. She wrote "OKAY THAT WAS FREAKY" in the notebook and underlined it twice. She left the reading feeling steadier than when she came in. Nobody had tried to scare her, and nobody had tried to sell her anything. Rosa still buys her candles at the dollar store, and her family is doing fine.
Life's complicated. A little perspective can help.
