Update The File

Full Song Lyrics

[Verse 1]
They already decided who you are,
Years ago, based on a version afar.
High school memories or a job you lost,
Faded relationships where you paid the cost.

[Chorus]
Stop explaining, let your actions be loud,
Force the update, stand tall, be proud.
Show them the strength, the person you've grown,
Override the past, let your truth be known.

[Verse 2]
Waiting for them to see who you've become,
But nobody updates, it’s a silent drum.
Defend the old you, what’s the point,
When the past is a file they seldom anoint?

[Bridge]
Talk is cheap, they all know that fact,
Convince them with presence, that’s how you act.
Show up different, make them all see,
The smaller version of you, can’t hold the key.

[Chorus]
Stop explaining, let your actions be loud,
Force the update, stand tall, be proud.
Show them the strength, the person you've grown,
Override the past, let your truth be known.

[Verse 3]
Doubt is free, costs them nothing at all,
But it’ll cost you your energy, don’t break from the call.
Stop performing for rooms, let their applause fade,
Commit to the work, let the results invade.

[Bridge]
Here’s what happens when you finally commit,
One day they’ll look up, what they knew won’t fit.
It’s not luck or a break, it’s your hard work unveiled,
When the old story fades and the truth gets hailed.

[Chorus]
Stop explaining, let your actions be loud,
Force the update, stand tall, be proud.
Show them the strength, the person you've grown,
Override the past, let your truth be known.

[Verse 4]
Some may never see the change for the best,
But that’s just fine; you’re not in this for the rest.
They’ll catch on eventually, the ones who care,
And the rest just don’t matter, they’re not even there.

[Outro]
Show them anyway, not for their eyes,
But to remind yourself you’re capable, wise.
That’s the real reason you rise from the fall,
Go, step forward, you can conquer it all.
