Celtic Cross

[Verse 1] Ten cards on a table in the shape of a cross One for what you're holdin' and one for what you lost One for what's above you and one for what's below And one for the road that you're about to go [Verse 2] The first card is your heart, the second's what's in the way The third's your deepest root, the fourth is yesterday The fifth is what you hope for, the sixth is comin' near And the staff along the side tells the rest of what's here [Chorus] Lay the Celtic Cross, let the story unfold Every card a chapter, every truth be told Paul Hesch is readin' with a steady hand Mister Hesch dot com, come and understand [Verse 3] The seventh card is you, the way you see your soul The eighth is all the people and the world that takes its toll The ninth one's hopes and fears all tangled in a knot And the tenth card is the outcome, the ending of the plot [Chorus] Lay the Celtic Cross, let the story unfold Every card a chapter, every truth be told Paul Hesch is readin' with a steady hand Mister Hesch dot com, come and understand [Verse 4] My granddaddy said it's like a map of the land Every river, every mountain, every grain of sand You can't change the weather but you can choose the trail And a man who knows the map ain't so likely to fail [Verse 5] So bring me all your questions, bring me all your doubt We'll lay the ancient pattern and we'll figure it out Ten cards and a candle and a little bit of grace And you'll walk out knowin' your direction and your place [Chorus] Lay the Celtic Cross, let the story unfold Every card a chapter, every truth be told Paul Hesch is readin' with a steady hand Mister Hesch dot com, come and understand
